This study aims to analyze the postgraduate studies conducted in the field of education and training related to sustainable development in Turkey and to identify their general trends. The problem statement of the study was defined as "What are the general trends of postgraduate studies in the field of education and training related to sustainable development in Turkey?" The study employs a qualitative research model and uses descriptive content analysis as a type of content analysis. The research was conducted on 48 theses downloaded from the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). A publication review form was used to examine the theses. According to the results obtained from the research, it was identified that the number of studies prepared in the field of education and training related to sustainable development was higher in 2019, the majority of the studies consisted of master's theses, Middle East Technical University was in the lead in the number of studies, studies aimed at determining the attitudes, values, and awareness of teachers and pre-service teachers within the scope of the objectives of the studies and studies carried out with pre-service teachers and students in the study groups were more common, the qualitative research method was used more frequently among research methods, scales and interviews were more commonly used within data collection tools, and the content analysis technique was used more frequently in data analysis methods. Accordingly, it can be stated that there is an increasing momentum in the general trend of postgraduate studies on sustainable development in the field of education and training in Turkey. The results were discussed in relation to the related literature and the study was concluded with recommendations.
Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye’de sürdürülebilir kalkınma ile ilgili eğitim öğretim alanında yapılan lisansüstü çalışmaların analiz edilerek genel eğilimlerinin tespit edilmesidir. Araştırmanın problemi ise, “Türkiye’de sürdürülebilir kalkınma ile ilgili eğitim öğretim alanında yapılan lisansüstü çalışmaların genel eğilimi nasıldır?” şeklinde belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada, nitel araştırma modeli ve içerik analizi türlerinden betimsel içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında, YÖK Ulusal Tez Merkezi’nden indirilen 48 tez üzerinden çalışma yapılmıştır. Tezlerin incelenmesinde bir yayın inceleme formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre; sürdürülebilir kalkınmayla ilgili eğitim öğretim alanında hazırlanan çalışma sayısının 2019 yılında daha fazla olduğu, çalışmaların büyük çoğunluğunun yüksek lisans tezlerinden oluştuğu, çalışma sayısında Ortadoğu Teknik Üniversitesi’nin önde olduğu, çalışmaların amaçları kapsamında öğretmenlerin ve öğretmen adaylarının tutum, değer ve farkındalıklarını belirlemeye yönelik çalışmalarla çalışma gruplarında öğretmen adayları ve öğrencilerle gerçekleştirilen çalışmaların daha fazla olduğu, araştırma yöntemlerinden nitel araştırma yönteminin, veri toplama araçlarından ölçek ve görüşmelerin, veri analiz yöntemlerinden ise içerik analizi tekniğinin daha fazla kullanıldığı tespit edilmiştir. Buna göre, Türkiye’de sürdürülebilir kalkınma ile ilgili eğitim öğretim alanında yapılan lisansüstü çalışmaların genel eğiliminde artan bir ivmenin olduğu ifade edilebilir. Sonuçlar alan yazındaki çalışmalarla tartışılmış ve çalışmaya önerilerle son verilmiştir.
