                                                                                                <abstract><p>ÖzetBu çalışmanın amacı, İngilizce öğrencilerinin öz benlik saygısı ve akademik öz yeterlikleri arasındaki ilişkiyi belirlemek ve öz benlik saygısı ve akademik öz yeterlik puanlarının cinsiyet, sınıf ve genel akademik ortalamalarına göre farklılıklarını incelemektir. Araştırma, Hacettepe Üniversitesi, Edebiyat Fakültesi bünyesinde yer alan İngiliz Dilbilimi ve İngilizce Mütercim-Tercümanlık Bölümlerinde çeşitli sınıflara devam eden toplam 394 öğrenci üzerinde yapılmıştır. Veriler, demografik bilgi formu, Rosenberg Öz Benlik Saygı Ölçeği ve Jerusalem ve Schwarzer tarafından geliştirilen Akademik Öz Yeterlik Ölçeği ile toplanmıştır. Veri analizinde t-testi, Kruskal-Wallis Testi ve Spearman Rank korelasyon katsayıları kullanılmıştır. Sonuçlar öğrencilerin öz benlik saygısı ile akademik öz yeterlik puanları arasında olumlu ve anlamlı bir ilişki olduğunu (r=0.464, p=0.00) ayrıca öğrencilerin cinsiyetleri ile akademik öz yeterlikleri; genel akademik ortalama grupları ile akademik öz yeterlikleri ve devam ettikleri sınıf ile öz benlik saygısı puanları arasında farklılık olduğunu göstermektedir.</p></abstract>
