Akın worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Yıldız Technical University between 2006 and 2013. Since 2013, he has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Çankırı Karatekin University. His main research areas include separation processes, adsorption, crystallization, synthesis and applications of metal oxides, nanomaterials production and characterization, hydrogen production and reaction kinetics.
