Abstract

Bir akım olarak modernizm, din bilimlerinde geleneği sorgulayarak, bazen ona karşı çıkarak, bazen tahrip ederek veya değiştirmeye çabalayarak hareket ederken; postmodernizm ise etnik, lokal ve ekolojik açıdan çok daha fazla fenomenlere bölünmüş din anlayışına “hayır” demez. Buna karşın eleştirel bir formda olan postmodernizm ise dinlerdeki mutlaklık, kesinlik ve tanımlanabilir olmayı bir yöntem sorunu olarak görür. Bu makalede modernizm ve postmodernizmin ortaya çıkardığı temel problemler ile din bilimcilerin bu sorunlara karşı verdiği olumlu veya olumsuz tepkiler ele alınacaktır.

THE DISCUSSIONS ON THE MODERNİSM AND POSTMODERNİSM IN THE METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES OF THE HISTORY OF RELIGIONS

Abstract

Modernism, a movement, questions the religious tradition in the study of religion as well reacts it by destroying it or changing it whereas postmodernism, as the continuing or reacting movement of it, never says no to the same tradition. Furthermore, the postmodernism considers being the absolute, the certain, the definable  in the religion as the problematic matters. In this article we will dealt with the main problems emerged out in these two movemets and their relationship with the religious studies acting towards or reacting against them.
