Sait Faik Abasıyanık, who brought a different perspective to modern storytelling, is one of the important writers of the Republican era Turkish literature. The writer, who includes different subjects and types in his stories, tells about ordinary people such as fishermen, workers, laborers, porters, shopkeepers, civil servants, unemployed, housewives or children who can be encountered anytime and anywhere. The child figure has an important place in most of the stories of the writer. In some of his stories, while the protagonist is a child, in some of his stories the child appears as a supporting character. The aim of this study is to examine the types of children in the stories in Sait Faik Abasıyanık's books named Semaver and Mahalle Kahvesi. In the study based on the literature review, the artist's view of the concept of child, an important figure of the social order, in these two books was evaluated.
