Namık Kemal came to the forefront during the Tanzimat period and took a place both in Turkish history and in the modernizing Turkish literature with his works and writings. He found the solution he sought for the salvation and continuity of the state in the change to be made in the current administration of the Ottoman Empire. He wrote works in line with this understanding. Among his prose works, one of his works worth mentioning is Rüya. This work, which he wrote while in exile in Famagusta, is a dream in which he dreams of the realization of freedom, including utopian elements. In this study, firstly, general information about utopia is given, then the period in which Namık Kemal lived, the effect of this period on him and the innovations he brought to the country are discussed. Afterwards, the utopian elements of the work named Rüya are tried to be determined by considering the idea.
