Abstract

The Influence of the Far Right Parties on EU Members’ Migration Policies

Abstract

This study aims to reveal that far-right parties are direct or indirect actors in the migration policies implemented in European countries. In this context, case studies have been conducted on the examples of France, Netherlands and Italy and how the far-right political parties that existed in these countries have changed their immigration policies especially in the early 2000s. As a result of this analysis, it was found that far right parties can influence the migration policies in a transformative role as a small partner of government or by suppressing right-wing conservative parties in power.
