Evaluation of hand functions in 20-84 age group of healty individuals

Abstract

This Study, which is carried out in the division of physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of Istanbul Medical Faculty is conduced to assess the influence of age and sex on hand functions in healty subjects. Jebsen Hand Functıon Test was administered to 218 Subjects (age range 20-84) who had no functional impairment in their upper extermities with regard to, anatomic integrity, mobility, sensation and coordination When the results of the test were evaluated. It was seen that sex difference was not an important factor in gross activities: but women were mar kedly successfuf in functions that require dextenty When subjects in age groups 20-39 and 40-59 were compa red. age differance was not found to be an influening factor in had function except for, writing and turning over cards When the subjects in groups 40-59 and 60-84 were compared the subjects in the latter group were less successfull ın performing the activities in the test which meant that older age highly influenced hand functions.

20-84 yaş grubu arasındaki sağlıklı kişilerde el fonksiyonlarının değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

İstanbul Tıp Fakültesi Fizik Tedavi ve Rehabilitasyon Bölümü'nde yapılan bu araştırma. sağlıklı kişilerin el fonksiyonlarına yaş ve cinsiyet farkının ne derece etki ettiğini belirlemek amacı ile düzenlendi. Çalışmada 20-84 yaş grubu arasında olan ve üst ekstemitelerinde anatornik bütünlük mobilite duyu ve koordinasyon bozukluğu olmayan 218 kişiye ''Jebsen EI Fonksiyon Testi'' uygulandı Test sonuçlarının değerlendirilmesi neticesinde, kaba aktivitelerde cinsiyet farkının önemli olmadığı; fakat ince işlerde kadınların daha başarılı olduğu görüldü. Yaş farkının ise 20-39 ile 40-59 yaş grupları arasında yazma ve kart çevirme hariç diğerlerinde önemli olmadığı: 40-59 ile 60-84 yaş grupları arasında ise, ileri yaşın el fonksiyonlarındaki başarıyı azalttığı bulundu
