Absent posterior tibial artery in a case with clubfoot

Year 1992, Volume: 26 Issue: 3, 197 - 198, 11.09.2006

Abstract

Absence of the posterior tibial artery is extremely rare. Complete absence of the posterior tibial artery associated with clubfoot was first reported in 1991. As far as we concern, our case is the second. For this reason we built a discussion over our case and related literature. We discuss that a vascular factor may contribute to the etiology of clubfoot and the importance of vascular malformations are emphasized in aspect of surgical dissection.
