Schanz osteotomy in irreduceable congenital hip dislocation and results

Abstract

Between 1989-1992, 13 hips of 1 0 patients with a mean age of 24.5 who has a congenital hip dislocation have been treated by Schanz osteotomy at 1. Orthopaedics and Traumatology Clinic of Kartal State Hospital. AII patients have varying degrees of pain and most of them (92%) have a limb as the presenting symptom. At the end of the follow up period which has a mean duration of 30"8 months all but one have good results. Pain has been completely or partially subsided, Iimb has been decrased significantly. There has been significant increase in the walking distance. No complication has been noted that will effects the results. Taking ;nto regard that most of the symptoms resolve with Schanz osteotomy, thougt itis a paliative way of treatment, Schanz osteotomy can be sben as a treatment option in those patients who has been regarded as early candidates for total hip replacement.

Envetere Doğuştan Kalça Çıkığında Schanz Osteotomisi ve Sonuçları

Abstract

1989-1992 tarihleri arasında Kartal Devlet Hastanesi, Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Kliniği'nde, yaş ortalaması 24,3 olan, 10 hastanın 13 kalçasına Schanz osteotomisi uyguladık. Hastaların hepsinde değişen derecelerde ağrı varken, çoğunluğunda da (%92) topallama yakınması saptandı. Ortalama 30.8 ay izlenen olgularımızdan biri ( dışında iyi sonuç alındı. Hastaların ağrıları tamamen geçti ve azaldı, topalama yakınmaları önemli oranda azaldı ve yürüme mesafeleri arttı. Sonuçları etkileyen komplikasyon görülmedi. Total kalça protezi için erken yaşta olan envetere çıkıklarda, Schanz osteotomisinin hastaların yakınmalarının çoğunu giderdiği ve palyatif olmasına karşın bir tedavi alternatifi olarak düşünülmesi gerektiği sonucuna varıldı.
