The results of femoral neck fractures treated with the Richards Sliding hip screw-plate

Abstract

The patients recruited were those with femoral neck fractures who applied to the Department of Orthopaedic and Traumatology Clinic of Medical Faculty of University of Erciyes, in a period of between January 1985 and December 1992. Twenty-one patients treated by Richards hip screw-plate were followed up by an average of 49.4 months. Pseudoarthrosis occured in 5 of 21 patients (23.8%) whereas avascular necrosis was observed in 7 of 21 patients (33.3%). Twelve patients (57.1%) were assessed as good.

Abstract

Ocak 1985-Aralık 1992 tarihleri arasında Erciyes Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji kliniğinde yaş ortalaması 46.1 (min. 20, mak. 72) olan 21 (17 erkek, 4 bayan) femur boyun kırıklı olguya dinamik kalça vida-plağı (Richards) uygulandı. Ortalama 49.4 (min 17, mak. 84) ay izlenen olguların 5 (%23.8)'inde psödoartroz, 7 (%33.3)'sinde avasküler nekroz görüldü. Yirmibir olgunun 12 (%57.1)'si iyi olarak değerlendirildi.
