Postopetative healing period of carpal tunnel syndrome

Year 1995, Volume: 29 Issue: 4, 260 - 262, 11.09.2006

Abstract

We prospectively reviewed the healing period of 29 patients with carpal tunnel syndrome treated surgically between 1990-1994. We compared both preoperative and postoperative clinical and electrodiagnostic findings. Of these patients, 27 (92%) were female and 2 (8%) male. The mean age was 46.9 years. We performed carpal tunnel decompression for 33 hands of 29 patients. The mean follow up time was 12.2 months (3 to 41 months). In conclusion: the subjective signs of the carpal tunnel syndrome improved in a short time, but the improvement of the electrophysiological changes took more time exceeding 6 months after the carpal tunnel release.

Karpal tünel sendromunda postoperatif iyileşme süresi

Year 1995, Volume: 29 Issue: 4, 260 - 262, 11.09.2006
