Abstract
Elekrokoter; 1980'li yıllardan beri özellikle kompleks menisküs lezyonlarının rezeksiyonunda, lateral retinakuler release ve plika reaksiyonları ile artroliz gereken vakalarda kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Ocak 1992 - Ocak 1998 tarihleri arasında kliniğimizde uygulanan toplam 661 artroskopik menisektomi olgusundan koter kullanılan 23'ü değerlendirilmiş, bu olgulara ait intraoperatif ve postoperatif bulgular literatür bilgileri eşliginde tartışılmıştır. Çalışmada özellikle longitudinal ve komplet longitudinal menisküs lezyonları ile diskoid menisküs varlığında koter kullanımının efektif bir yöntem olduğu ortaya konurken, koter kulanımına ait komplikasyonların, zannedilenin aksine, oldukça düşük olduğu saptanmıştır.

Abstract
Electrosurgery has been used for resection of meniscal resections, lateral retinacular release, plica cutting and arthrolysis for 1980’s. From 1992 January to 1998 January, 661 arthroscopic menisectomies were performed in our clinic. In this study, we evaluated 23 electrosurgical menisectomy cases and their intraoperative and postoperative problems. Electrosurgical technique is an effective method for resection of bucket handle, longitudinal and periferal meniscal tears and discoid meniscus cases. Furthermore, complication rate of this technique is fewer than expected.
