                            <p>Adopted in 2003, the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage identifies the tradition of handicrafts as one of the fields, which is related to almost all of the other four fields included in the Convention. Obtaining materials from nature; collectively producing and experiencing them in social practices and rituals; creating many idioms, stories and tales; and forming the aesthetic and visual dimension of performing arts are some examples of its relationship with other intangible cultural heritage areas. This feature of handicrafts places them in a broader context that is not limited to the production process and the product produced. The “musealization of handicrafts” and “musealization of handicraft tradition” can also be evaluated in this context. These two museological approaches have different dimensions, aims, and methods. The museum of craftsmanship aims to show the aesthetic characteristics and artistic values of craftsmanship products. The establishment of museums that focus on the traditional of craftsmanship and adapt to the processes of practice, experience, and transmission from generation to generation is important for the safeguarding and sustainability of the traditional. The aim of this study is to examine the ways in which handicraft tradition is musealized and to evaluate the effects of musealization on tradition in the contexts of cultural transmission, experience and sustainability. The research is oriented towards analyzing the potential of museums to move beyond being mere institutions that display inventories to become spaces where tradition is kept alive and reproduced. Among the museums established in Türkiye and around the world in different periods, focusing on handicrafts or including handicrafts, examples with high representativeness were selected in terms of their methods of exhibiting the production process, social context and cultural transmission forms of handicrafts. The selection of the examples was also influenced by the museums’ exhibition organization, visitor interaction, use of digital technology, traditional knowledge transfer and whether or not they include production processes. As a result of the study, it has been observed that the museumization of handicrafts has transmission from an understanding of mere product exhibition to a holistic understanding of museology that focuses on the production processes, social contexts and cultural bearer of tradition.</p></trans-abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <abstract><p>2003 yılında kabul edilen Somut Olmayan Kültürel Mirasın Korunması Sözleşmesi’nin belirdiği alanlardan biri olarak el sanatları geleneği, Sözleşme’de yer alan diğer dört alanın neredeyse tamamıyla ilişkilidir. Malzemelerin doğadan elde edilmesi; toplumsal uygulamalar ve ritüellerde kolektif olarak üretilmesi ve deneyimlenmesi; birçok deyimi, hikâyeyi ve masalı ortaya çıkarması; gösteri sanatlarının estetik ve görsel boyutunu oluşturması diğer somut olmayan kültürel miras alanlarıyla ilişkisinin birkaç örneğidir. El sanatlarının bu özelliği onu sadece üretim süreciyle ve üretilen ürünle sınırlı kalmayan daha geniş bir bağlama oturtmaktadır. “El sanatlarının müzelenmesi” ve “el sanatları geleneğinin müzelenmesi” de bu bağlamda değerlendirilebilir. Bu iki müzecilik yaklaşımının farklı boyutları, amaçları ve yöntemleri vardır. El sanatlarının müzelenmesi, el sanatları ürünlerinin estetik özellikleri ve sanat değerlerini göstermeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu tarz müzelerde müze ziyaretçisi “katılımcı” olmaktadır. El sanatları geleneğine odaklanan ve uygulama, deneyimleme ile kuşaktan kuşağa aktarma süreçlerine uyum sağlayan müzelerin kurulması, geleneğin korunması ve sürdürülebilirliğinin sağlanması açısından önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışma, el sanatları geleneğini müzeleme yöntemlerini incelemek ve bu müzelemenin geleneğe olan etkilerini kültürel aktarım, deneyimleme ve sürdürülebilirlik bağlamlarında değerlendirmek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma, müzelerin yalnızca envanterleri sergileyen kurumlar olmanın ötesine geçerek, geleneğin yaşatıldığı ve yeniden üretildiği alanlara dönüşme potansiyellerini analiz etmeye yönelmiştir. Türkiye’de ve dünyada farklı dönemlerde kurulmuş, el sanatlarına odaklanan ya da el sanatlarını da kapsayan müzeler arasından; el sanatlarının üretim süreci, toplumsal bağlamı ve kültürel aktarım biçimlerini sergileme yöntemleri bakımından temsil gücü yüksek örnekler seçilmiştir. Örneklerin seçiminde müzelerin sergi düzenleri, ziyaretçi etkileşimi, dijital teknoloji kullanımı, geleneksel bilgi Çalışma sonucunda, el sanatlarının müzelenmesinin salt ürün sergilemeye yönelik bir anlayıştan çıkarak geleneğin üretim süreçleri, toplumsal bağlamları ve kültürel taşıyıcılığına odaklanan bütüncül bir müzecilik anlayışına dönüştüğü gözlemlenmiştir.</p></abstract>
