<p>This study examines the transmission of cultural heritage during the transition of the family from its classical structure to the digital sphere from a folkloric perspective, analyzing the evolution of cultural continuity through rites of passage, food culture, and social practices. The family is defined not only as a biological entity but also as a social structure that conveys cultural identity, collective memory, and traditional knowledge across generations. Rites of passage such as birth, marriage, and death are critical cultural components that shape communities’ belief systems, values, and social roles. Practices such as the henna night, wedding ceremonies, mevlid recitations, and funeral meals serve as representations of cultural memory both in meaning and in function. Food culture, likewise, is not merely a form of biological consumption but an essential element in identity formation and the strengthening of intergenerational ties. Recipes transmitted across generations, table settings, and oral instructions related to the kitchen support the comprehension and reinforcement of a culture of solidarity. However, the rise of digitalization has reduced face-to-face interactions within the family and shifted cultural elements into digital spaces. Social media platforms, digital recipe collections, and online ritual videos constitute new opportunities as well as limitations in the transmission of traditional knowledge and experience. Within this framework, the study aims to compare classical modes of transmission with the effects of digitalization, and to analyze the role of the family in transmitting cultural heritage through rites of passage, gastronomic culture, and ritual practices. Thus, this study aims to discuss the role of the family in the transmission of cultural heritage, the transformation of ritual practices, and the new dimensions acquired by culinary culture through digitalization from a holistic perspective.</p></trans-abstract>
