Abstract

Onkoloji sürecindeki kişilerin, ailelerin, ve hatta tedavi ekibinin bile artan psikolojik ihtiyaçlarına cevap verebilmek için gelişmiş ülkelerde olduğu gibi ülkemizde de psikoonkoloji alanı giderek gelişmektedir. Dünya Sağlık Örgütü’ne göre (1948), ‟sağlık, sadece hastalık ve sakatlığın olmayışı değil; fiziksel, ruhsal ve sosyal yönden tam iyilik halidir” (DSÖ, 1948). Dünya Sağlık Örgütü’nün (1948) sağlıklı olmak tanımıyla beraber onkolojideki multidisipliner çalışmanın iyileşmedeki önemi yadsınamaz hale gelmiştir. Psikoonkoloji ve güncel yaklaşımlar çalışmasının amacı psikoonkoloji biliminin tarihsel süreci, önemi, psikoonkolojik destek, etkili psikoonkolojik destek yaklaşımları, ağrı, yorgunluk ve progresyon korkusu, değerlendirme araçları ve etkili destek yaklaşımları ve sağlık ekibinin etkili yardımcı olma yöntemleriyle ilgili güncel yaklaşımları aktarmaktır.
