<p>A person named Kalmyk Ruler Kongtachi is mentioned in the work called Manaqibnama, which conveys the legendary life and poems of Babarahīm Mashrab, a Chagatai poet and Qalandarī dervish. In this research, it is focused on who was the ruler of that period by considering the information contained in the aforementioned work. In the first part of this article, it is determined that this personage is the Zunghar Ruler Galdan Khan, by referring to Manaqibnama and evaluating the place and time where Kongtachi lived, as well as other information and comparing it with historical sources. After providing a brief overview of the Oirat-Zunghar Khanate, Galdan Khan, who reigned from 1678 to 1697, was tried to be introduced here with this paper. Galdan Khan, who took the throne of the Oirat-Zunghar Khanate after spending his childhood years in Tibet next to the 5th Dalai Lama, experienced the heyday of the Khanate on the historical stage. Galdan Khan, who struggled with internal turmoil in his country and the Qing Emperor Kangxi during his reign, was defeated in the war that took place in 1696 with the Qing Emperor, and then died in 1697.Galdan Khan also crossed paths with Hidāyatullāh Āfāq Khoja, the Aktaglik Sheikh, who was described as an important figure in the life of Babarahīm Mashrab. At the request of the Dalai Lama, he helped Hidāyatullāh Āfāq Khoja in his war in East Turkestan. In the Manaqibnama, it is mentioned that the Kalmyk Ruler adopted the religion of Islam at the center of the events between Babarahīm Mashrab and Kongtachi. In the last part of this research, an assessment is made in the light of historical sources about which faith Galdan Khan belongs to and whether he adopted Islam.</p></trans-abstract>
