Sabit protetik restorasyonlar$n yap$m$ sürecinde hastada kaybolan fonksiyon, fonasyon ve esteti:i geri kazand$rmak, prepare edilen di leri d$ etkenlerden korumak ve di lerde olu abilecek hassasiyeti önlemek amac$yla geçici restorasyon uygulamalar$ oldukça önemlidir. Bu uygulamalar, daimi restorasyonun ba ar$s$n$ etkileyece:i gibi hastan$n da bu k$sa ancak önemli dönemi daha rahat geçirmesini sa:layacakt$r.Bu amaçlarla kullan$lacak olan geçici restorasyonlar, hem teknik hem de materyal olarak farkl$ ekillerde haz$rlanabilir. Haz$rlanan geçici restorasyonlar ise iyi mekanik özellikleri olan, bakteriyel veya moleküler penetrasyona izin vermeyen uygun yap$ t$r$c$simanlarla simante edilmelidir
