There are case reports that selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor group antidepressants (SSRI-AD) cause bruxism. The aim of this study was to investigate whether patients using SSRI-AD with bruxism will be able to treat the bruxism by discontinuing the medication.Material and Methods: A total of 22 patients who were diagnosed with bruxism and take SSRI-AD were included in the study. The visual analog scale was used to determine the degree of pain at the palpation of the masticatory muscles and to what extent the complaint of bruxism affected the quality of life. In addition, short-form 12 (SF-12) questionnaire, which is a medical outcome evaluation study, was applied. The drug was discontinued and the measurements were repeated 6 weeks after discontinuation. In binary comparisons; dependent, independent t-tests, Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney U tests were used and the results of all analyzes were evaluated as significance p &amp;lt;0.05. Results: There was a statistically significant decrease in pain and bruxism&#039;s negative effects on patient&#039;s life after palpation to the masticatory muscles following drug discontinuation. There was also a significant increase in the mental component of the SF-12 questionnaire. There was no significant difference between male and female patients before and after drug discontinuation. Conclusion: Dentists and psychiatrists with patients treated with antidepressants, especially SSRI-ADs, need to be aware of the possibility of bruxism. The drug list of patients with bruxism should be carefully reviewed and evaluated for SSRI-AD usage. Keywords: Bruxism, Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors, Antidepressive Agents</p>
