                            <p>Objective:The aim of this study was to determine the knowledge level of osteoporosisusing the Osteoporosis Knowledge Test (OKT) in voluntary women who consulted tofamily health centers in center of Kayseri province.Methods:Study sample consisted of 433 voluntary women aged 18 years and over who cameto the Talas Miraboğlu and Esenyurt Latif Başkal Family Health Center betweenOctober and December in 2015. Data were collected via a questionnaire aboutsociodemographic features, anthropometric measurements (weight and height), andconsumption habits of dairy products, and Osteoporosis Knowledge Test. Datawere presented number (n), percentage (%), mean (x ̅), standard deviation(±SD), and min-max. One-way variance analysis was used to determine the differencesbetween groups.Results:The mean age of the women was 33.88±12.44 years; %53.4 of them had normal bodyweight while %13.7 of them was obese. The total OKT score was 17.46±3.20.Exercise Knowledge Subscale score of single women was significantly higher thanmarried women (p&amp;lt;0.05). No significant relation was determined between agegroups, education levels, exercise habits, presence of osteoporosis in thefamily and subscales and total OKT scores. The total OKT score of women whoconsumed dairy products every day was significantly higher women who consumeddairy products ≤2 days and 3-5 days per week (p&amp;lt;0.05).Conclusion:In conclusion, osteoporosis knowledge levels of women were not very low, butmarital status and consumption of dairy products could affect the level ofosteoporosis knowledge.</p></trans-abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <abstract><p>ÖZETAmaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı Kayseri ilmerkezindeki aile sağlığı merkezlerine gelen gönüllü kadınların OsteoporozBilgi Testi (OBT) kullanılarak osteoporoz hakkındaki bilgi düzeyleri veetkileyen etmenlerin belirlenmesidir. Yöntem: Çalışmanın örneklemini 2015 yılının Ekimve Aralık ayları arasında Talas Miraboğlu ve Esenyurt Latif Başkal Aile SağlığıMerkezlerine gelen, 18 yaş ve üzeri 433 gönüllü kadın oluşturmuştur. Veritoplamada sosyodemografik özellikler, antropometrik ölçümler ve süt ve sütürünleri tüketim alışkanlıklarının kaydedildiği bir anket formu ve Osteoporoz BilgiTesti kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Kadınların yaş ortalaması 33.88±12.44yıl olup, %53.4’ü normal ağırlıkta ve %13.7’si şişmandır. Toplam OBT puanı17.46±3.20 olarak bulunmuştur. Bekâr kadınların Egzersiz Bilgisi Alt Boyutpuanının evli kadınların Egzersiz Bilgisi Alt Boyut puanına göre anlamlı olarakdaha yüksek olduğu görülmüştür (p&amp;lt;0.05). Kadınların yaş grupları, eğitimdüzeyleri, egzersiz alışkanlıkları, ailede osteoporoz görülme durumu ile altboyut ve toplam OBT puanları arasında anlamlı ilişkiye rastlanmamıştır. Her günsüt ve süt ürünleri tüketme alışkanlığına sahip olan kadınların toplam OBTpuanı, haftada ≤2 gün ve haftada 3-5 gün süt ve süt ürünleri tüketmealışkanlığına sahip olan kadınlardan anlamlı olarak daha yüksek bulunmuştur(p&amp;lt;0.05). Çoklu doğrusal regresyon analizine göre egzersiz alışkanlığınınEgzersiz Bilgisi Alt Boyutu ve OBT puanlarını etkileyen en anlamlı değişkenolduğu belirlenmiştir (p=0.005 ve p=0.003). Sonuç: Bu sonuçlar doğrultusunda, kadınlarınosteoporoz bilgi düzeylerinin çok düşük düzeylerde olmadığı ancak, medenidurumun ve süt ve süt ürünleri tüketim alışkanlığının osteoporoz bilgidüzeylerini etkilediği görülmüştür.
