Fadl b. SMun the pioneers of Irnamiyy.ı as a scholar lived in the times of some persons whom Im'imİtes considered Irnams. Besides, he was also the leader of school of Hisham b. al-Hakam of his own time. Perhaps the real imponance of him was the faet thathis some books narrated the views of a person, Le. Fadl b. Sh.izan, at first hand on imamate, who lived in the times of Irnams. Among his works theKittih al. 'I/al,which reached the peresent time through Ja'far al-Sidiq's works, gives some information on lmamate. In this work Fadl h. Shadan, giving some rational explanations, tries to establish the doetrine of lmamate. And this mide,centering on hi~Kiüibal. 'I/al, auns to identify both the persona1iry of Fadl b. Shadan and his views on Imamate
