Similerliy, the effects of certain fragments of oxytocin on behaviour was shown. In this repori we presented the citects of the fragmenis of oxytocin, OXT (4-9) and OXT (5-8) on ezxtinction of a conditioned avolidance response (E.C.A,R), In extinction test that the İfragment of oxytocin, OXT (4-9) have been injecied Ihr before the sessions, decreased responses (E.C.A.R.) were observed in comparison to saline injected control group, İt was observed that the results of 190 4g/ke doses of OXT (5-3) administered animals were not different from the controls while responses (E.C.AR)J of 200 pg/kg doses of OXT (5-8) injected animals weredeöcregsed. in retention tesis, administration of OXT (4-9) disturked retrieval process in all doses. When OKT (5-8) was injected, ii was mot effected by the doses of 190 ug/ke, but attenuated by higher doses, 209 ug /ke. İn conclusion, the fragment of oxytocin, OXT (4-9), facilitated extinction and disturbed retrieval in all doses but OXT (5-8) caused same results only at higher doses. These results probably suggesisd that giycine aminoacid in position nine may be important especialiy in memory consolidation and retrievel.</p>
