Premenstrücül Sendrom (PMS) öyküsü ile başvuran 60 hasta araştırma grubuna alındı. Premenstirüel semptomları skorlandırılarak PMS formu dolduruldu. Tesadüfi seçilen 30 hastaya bromokriptin 2x2.5 mg/gün'lük dozda oral olarak, siklusun 14. güününden itibaren menstruasyona kadar verildi. Diğer 30 hastaya ise 2x1 plasebo aynışekilde verildi. Bir kontrol siklusundan sonra, 3 siklus tedavi-plasebo uygulandı. Kontrol siklusunun 23. günü ve tedavinin son siklusunun 23. günü kan örnekleri alınıp prolaktin düzeyleri ölçüldü. PMS'da bromokriptin tedavisi; plaseboya göre anlamlı ve başarılı bulundu.

An investigation was carried out on 60 patients admitted with a history of premenstrual syndrome, The Premenstrual Form was filled in following scoring of premenstrual symptoms. 2x2.5 mg/day doses of bromocriptin was given oraliy to 30 patients selected randomiy, from the 14th day of the cycle until mensitruation, 2x1 plasebo wasgiven to another group of 30 patients in the same way. After a control cycle, therapy-placebo was applied for three cycles. Blood samples were taken on the 23rd day of the control cycle and the 23rd day of the last cycle of therapy and prolactin levels measured. When compared with placebo, the use of bromocriptin in the treatment of the premenstrual was found to be significant and successful.
