MAJOR LOWER EXREMİTY AMPUTATİONS

In this report, 68 above knee, 10 below knee amputations and one hip desarticulation for gangren which resulted from diabetes mellitus and occlusive arterial disease performed between January 1977 and April 1979, have been analysed retrospectively. : Majority of the patients consisted of elderly men. Mortality is found to be 26.5 per cent in above knee amputations and 20 percent in below knee amputations. Total of these series were 25.3 per cent. These findings were compared with literatüre review.

1 Ocak 1977 - 30 Nisan 1979 tarihleri arasında tıkayıcı arter hastalığı ve diabete bağlı gangren nedeni ile yapılan 68 dizüstü ve 10 dizaltı amputasyon ile bir kalça dezartikülasyonundan oluşan alt ekstremite amputasyonları retrospektif olarak incelendi.Hastaların çoğunluğunu yaşlı erkekler oluşturdu.Mortalite dizüstü amputasyonlarda % 26.5, dizaltı amputasyonlarda % 20olarak saptandı. Serinin total mortalitesi % 25.3 dür.Bu bulgular literatür ile karşılaştırıldı.
