12 Cases of Vena Cava Superior Syndrome were operated on between the years 1967 and the end of 1979 at the operation wards of the Türkiye Yüksek ihtisas Hastahanesi, Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. The _cases were in the range of 22 to 48 years, the mean being 39.8 years. All patients were male. Only in one case malignity was diagnosed as the cause of obstruction of the Vena Cava Superior (8.3 70). In this article, the aetiology, the surgical methods were discussed as related to the 12 cases who received surgical treatment.

1967 - 1979 sonu arasında 12 Vena Cava Superior Sendromu vak'asma kliniğimizde cerrahi girişm uygulanmaktadır. Vak'alanrımz 22 ile 48 gruplarl araSlnda olup, ortalama ya,ì, 39.8 dir. Vak'alarlrmnn hepsi erkektir. Sadece bir vak'ada Vena Cava Superior tlkanlkllälmn sebebi olarak malignite tesbit edilmi$ir ( % 8.3). Bu yzmrzda 12 vak'allk cerrahi giri$m uÿgulanan VCSS serisinde etyoloji ,tedavide cerrahi yöntemler tartışılmıştır.
