Renal biopsy specimen which is obtained from the 25 years old man with proteinuria, showed that the typical well-formed diabetic nodular glomerulosoclerosis. Family history was negative for diabetes mellitus. Fasting blood sugar, glucose tolerance and cortison-glucose tolerance tests were also within normal limits. Serum urea level was normal.It is concluded that the advanced nodular glomerulosclerotic lesions may develop in the kidney in the absence of carbohydrate intolerance.
Ailesinde §eker hastallžl hikayesi olmayan, açllk kan glukoz yiikleme ve kortizonglukoz yiikleme testleri negatif olan üresi normal olan, proteinüri bulunan ve böbrek biyopsisinde diabetik glomeruloskleroz saptanan 25 yayndaki bir erkek hasta takdim edilerek, literatür gözden geçirildi ve karbonhidrat metabolizmasmda klinik testlerle saptanabilen bir bozukluk olmakslzun, böbreklerde diabetik glomeruloskleroza uyan histopatolojik deži$klikler böbrek hastallžlna ve hatta nefrotik sendroma neden olabileceäi sonucuna vatlldl.
