Relationships Between Sinüs Rhythm And Atrial Fibrillation With Clinical And Histopathological Findings In Pure Mitral Stenosis

Histopathological and clinical findings were evaluated comparatively in 21 patients with pure mitral stenosis, 11 in sinus rhythm and 10 with atrial fibrillation. In patients with atrial fibrillation, the histopathology of the left atrial appendage (auricle) showed significant differences compared to those in sinus rhythm. While there was no relationship between the occurrence of atrial fibrillation and the degree of mitral stenosis, a definite relationship was established between the patient's age, functional group, left atrial size and the severity of pulmonary hypertension and the occurrence and persistence of atrial fibrillation.

11 sinüs ritminde ve 10 atrial fibrilasyonlu 21 saf mitral darlıklı hastada histopatolojik ve klinik bulgular mukayeseli olarak değerlendirildi. Atrial fibrilasyonlu hastalarda, sol atrium apendajının (aurikulasının) histopatolojisi, sinüs ritmindekilere göre anlamlı farklılık gösterdi. Atrial fibrilasyonun oluşu ile mitral darlığının derecesi arasında ilişki yok iken, hastanın yaşı, fonksiyonel grubu, sol atrium büyüklüğü ve pulmoner hipertansiyonun şiddeti ile atrial fibrilasyonun ortaya çıkışı ve sürekliliği arasında kesin bir ilgi kurulmuştur.
