Biceps brachii m. is the most commonly used anatomical formation to symbolize "muscle strength" in humans and is also of great importance in terms of function. The observation of a third and additional head of this muscle during our practical studies led us to focus on the frequency of occurrence and possible function of this third head and to conduct this study. First of all, in the majority of the literature reviewed, no information was found about the frequency of occurrence, status and various functions of a third head of biceps brachii m. However, in the limited number of literature, very little information was found on our subject and in these, not even the slightest opinion was expressed about the function of the additional head of biceps brachii m. In order to better evaluate the third head, which is the subject of the study, we find it necessary to first describe the normal condition of biceps brachii m.

M. biceps brachii insanlarda «kas kuvvetini» sembolize etmek için en çok kullanılan anatomik oluşum olup, fonksiyon bakımından da büyük önem taşunaktadır. Bu kasın pratik çalışmalarımız sırasında üçüncü ve ilâve bir başının görülüşü, bizi bu üçüncü başın rastlanış sıklığı durumu ve muhtemel fonksiyonu üzerinde durmaya ve bu incelemeye yöneltti.lik olarak, incelenen literatürün büyük kısmında m, biceps bracii'nin üçüncü bir başının rastlanış sıklığı, durumu Ve muhtelif fonksiyonu hakkında hiçbir bilgiye rastlanamamıştır. Ancak, sınrlı sayıdaki literatürde konumuz hakkında çok az da olsa bilgiye rastlanmış, bunlarda da m. biceps brachii i nin ilave başının fonksiyonu hakkında en ufak bir görüş bile belirtilmemiştir. İnceleme konusu olan üçüncü başı daha iyi değerlendirebilmek için evvela m. biceps brachii'nin normal durumunu lirtmeyi gerekli görmekteyiz.
