Kronik gidişli tıkayıcı çevrel arter hastalıklarında cerrahi tedavi angio grafik bulgulara göre seçilir. Ancak angiografik bulgular, arter duvarındaki hastalıklı segmenti sınırlar. Patolojik değişikliklerden daha dar (küçük) göstermektedir. Çoğu zaman bunun nedeni tek yönlü yapılan arteriografilerdir. Bu husus bilinerek cerrahi sınırların daha geniş olacağını müdahaleden önce kabul etmek lazımdır. Ayrıca angiografiden sonra hastanın ameliyatı için uzun süre beklememek icap eder. Zira angiografiden sonra sekonder tromboz görülmektedir.
In chronic occlusive peripheral arterial disease, surgical treatment is selected based on angiographic findings. However, angiography primarily delineates the diseased arterial segments, often underestimating the extent of pathological changes. This underestimation is frequently due to the unidirectional nature of conventional arteriography. It is essential to recognize this limitation and accept, prior to intervention, that the actual surgical margins may need to be broader than what is suggested by the angiographic images. Additionally, a prolonged delay between angiography and surgery should be avoided, as secondary thrombosis may occur following angiographic procedures.
