                                                                                                <abstract><p>This paper presents an evaluation of cases with pericardial effusion among 200 heart scintigraphies performed at Ankara University Medical Faculty Nuclear Medicine Center between 1968 and 1974. Due to the limitations of radiological imaging in distinguishing fluid accumulation from cardiac enlargement, radioactive heart blood pool scintigraphy was found to have significant diagnostic value. The technique provided crucial information in differentiating between cardiac dilation and pericardial effusion, and was shown to be safe, easily repeatable, and patient-friendly.</p></abstract>

                            <p>Bu makalede, 1968–1974 yılları arasında Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Nükleer Tıp Merkezinde yapılan 200 kalp sintigrafisi arasından epanşmanlı perikardit bulgusu gösteren vakalar değerlendirilmiştir. Radyolojik yöntemlerin kalp boşluklarındaki sıvı birikimini ayırt etmekte yetersiz kaldığı durumlarda, radyoaktif madde ile yapılan kalp boşlukları sintigrafisinin tanısal değeri vurgulanmıştır. Kalp dilatasyonu ile perikardial effüzyonun ayrımında sintigrafik ölçümler yol gösterici olmuş, bu yöntemin hasta için güvenli, tekrarlanabilir ve kolay uygulanabilir olduğu gösterilmiştir.</p></trans-abstract>
