The 438 cases nephrectomized in our clinic within 17 years were studied regarding their sort of primary disease, the types of surgical procedures and complications encountered in operative and post-operative periods. The causes of indications for nephrectomy in these cases can be classified as follows: The injuries on the kidneys due to nephrolithiasis 70% the various kinds of renal tumors 11%, the pyonephrosis and hydronephrosis due to various kinds of anomalies 9% and the renal tuberculosis 6%.The peculiarities of nephrectomy due to pyonephrosis are mentioned, because the 338 cases with pyonephrosis and hydronephrosis were nephrectomized.
Kliniğimizde 17 yılda nefrektomi indikasyonu ile müdahele edilen 438 vakada primer hastalık sebepleri, tatbik edilen operasyonların tipleri ve rastlanılan komplikasyonlar belirtilmiştir. Vakaların %70 inde üriner taş hastalığının böbrekte husule getirdiği hasar (başlıca pyonefroz ve enfekte hidronefroz), % 11 inde muhtelif böbrek tümörleri, %9'unda muhtelif anomalilerin tevlid ettiği pyonefroz ve hidronefroz, %6'sında da ilerlemiş böbrek tüberkülozu nefrektomi lüzumunu doğurmuştur. 338 vaka muhtelif derece ve tipte pyonefroz ve hidronefroz teşhisi ile ameliyat edildiğinden, pyonefroz nefrektomisinin özelliklerinden bahsedilmiştir.
