<p>This experimental study evaluates a modified surgical technique—“half-rotated” ileotransversostomy (180° axial rotation)—as an alternative to the classical ileotransversostomy following resection of the terminal ileum and right colonic lesions. Conducted collaboratively by A.Ü. and Ege University surgical clinics, the study compares outcomes between conventional and half-rotated anastomoses in canine models. Histopathological analysis showed better preservation of tissue integrity and less inflammation in the half-rotated group. Clinical data further support this method&#039;s anatomical and technical superiority, reducing the risk of leakage and improving surgical outcomes. The findings advocate for the practical adoption of this safer and anatomically favorable technique in colorectal surgery.</p></trans-abstract>
