<p>In a study conducted in the Endocrinology and Metabolism Department of the Internal Medicine Clinic at A. Ü. Faculty of Medicine, thyroid antibodies were examined in detail in 3 cases of Hashimoto&#039;s disease, 61 cases of subacute thyroiditis, and 22 cases of primary hypothyroidism. Elevated levels of thyroid autoantibodies were confirmed in Hashimoto&#039;s disease and primary adult myxedema, and the role of autoimmune reactions in the mechanisms of these two thyroid diseases was discussed. Additionally, this paper reviewed the relationship between post-radioisotopic hypothyroidism and autoimmune reactions, and it was noted that thyroid autoantibodies detected in subacute thyroiditis appeared secondarily during the course of the disease.</p></trans-abstract>
