Autoimmune Thyroid Diseases and Thyroid Disorders in Which Secondary Autoimmune Reactions Are Observed

Thyroid autoantibodies were investigated in patients with toxic diffuse goiter, endocrine exophtalmos, toxic nodular goiter, endemic goiter and the role of autoilmmune reactions in the etiopathogenesisof these thyroid disorders is discussed. Furthermore, the significance of the presence of thyroid autoantibodies in thyroid cancers and in some polyendocrinopathies is explained.
