The study explores the collateral circulation of the kidney, a topic gaining clinical relevance due to its role in maintaining renal function despite arterial stenosis or obstruction. Among 244 aortographies, collateral circulation was detected in 35 cases, mainly involving capsular and ureteral arteries. These vessels, though typically small and difficult to identify, can compensate for compromised renal arteries and preserve kidney function. This network becomes more visible in cases of vascular lesions due to vasodilation. The findings highlight the importance of collateral routes in renal pathophysiology and surgical decision-making.

Bu çalışma, böbreğin kollateral dolaşımını ve bu dolaşımın klinik önemini ele alıyor. 244 aortografi vakası incelenmiş ve 35 vakada kapsüler ve üreteral arterlerin katkısıyla kollateral dolaşım gözlenmiştir. Normalde küçük çaplı olan bu damarlar, renal arterlerdeki tıkanma veya daralma durumlarında vazodilatasyon sonucu fonksiyonu destekler hale gelir. Sonuçlar, bu damarların böbrek fonksiyonlarının korunmasında ve cerrahi kararların alınmasında ne denli önemli olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır.
