                                                                                                <abstract><p>Bu klinik araştırmada, genel cerrahî hastalarında tanı ve tedavi amaçlı yapılan 51 arter kan gazı ve asit-baz dengesi ölçümü analiz edilmiştir. pH, pCO₂, pO₂, standard bikarbonat (StB), tampon baz (BB) ve baz fazlalığı/eksikliği (BE) parametreleri Astrup metodu ile incelenmiştir. Kompanse ve dekompanse metabolik asidoz, gaz alkalozu ve hipoksi yaygın olarak gözlenmiştir. Özellikle 13 vakada ciddi solunum yetmezliği, 8 vakada ise derin dekompanse metabolik asidoz tespit edilmiştir. Seçilmiş olgularda NaHCO₃ ile yapılan tamponman tedavisi koma ve şokun düzeltilmesinde etkili olmuştur. Araştırma, cerrahî öncesi ve sonrası asit-baz izleminin önemini vurgulayarak metabolik bozuklukların postoperatif morbiditeye katkısını açıklamaktadır. Solunum fonksiyon testi ile birlikte kan gazı analizi ve klinik gözlem, cerrahî hazırlık ve sonrası yönetimde kritik bir araç olarak değerlendirilmiştir.</p></abstract>

                            <p>This clinical analysis discusses 51 arterial blood gas and acid-base assessments conducted in general surgery patients to evaluate diagnostic and therapeutic relevance. Parameters such as pH, pCO₂, pO₂, standard bicarbonate (StB), buffer base (BB), and base excess (BE) were measured using the Astrup method. Results revealed frequent occurrences of compensated and uncompensated metabolic acidosis, respiratory alkalosis, and hypoxia. Notably, 13 patients exhibited critical ventilatory insufficiency, while 8 showed deep uncompensated metabolic acidosis. Buffer therapy with NaHCO₃ was successful in coma and shock reversal in selected cases. The study emphasizes the importance of acid-base monitoring before and after surgery, highlighting how metabolic derangement can contribute to postoperative morbidity. Surgical preparation and postoperative management are enhanced by combining blood gas analysis with spirometry and clinical signs.</p></trans-abstract>
