This study investigates the efficacy of synthetic Teflon arterial grafts in repairing abdominal aortic defects in dogs and the role of heparinization in preventing early thrombosis. Experiments were conducted on 10 dogs, with grafts heparinized prior to implantation and monitored for up to one year. Results indicated that heparinization reduced early thrombosis risk, and the graft lumen was lined with a thin fibrous layer (pseudoendothelium). Infection was identified as the primary cause of graft failure, while the absence of excessive outer fibrous tissue prevented graft constriction. The findings support the successful use of synthetic Teflon grafts for large arterial defect repairs.
Bu çalışmada, sentetik teflon arter greflerinin köpeklerde aorta abdominalis defektlerinin onarımındaki etkinliği ve heparinizasyonun erken tromboz oluşumuna etkisi araştırılmıştır. Toplam 10 köpek üzerinde yapılan deneylerde, grefler kullanılmadan önce heparinize edilmiş ve en fazla bir yıl süreyle takip edilmiştir. Sonuçlar, heparinizasyonun erken tromboz riskini azalttığını ve gref iç yüzeyinin ince bir fibröz tabaka (psödoendotel) ile kaplandığını göstermiştir. Enfeksiyon, greft başarısızlığının en önemli nedeni olarak belirlenirken, dış fibröz tabakanın kalın olmaması greft daralmasını önlemiştir. Çalışma, sentetik teflon greflerin büyük arter defektlerinin onarımında başarıyla kullanılabileceğini desteklemektedir.
