This study presents two sisters diagnosed with Hirschsprung's disease and treated surgically using the Swenson technique. The etiopathogenesis of the disease is attributed to dysfunctional aganglionic segments in the distal colon, leading to proximal colon dilation and hypertrophy. The Swenson technique involves resection of the aganglionic segment while preserving anal sphincters and performing an anastomosis. Postoperative follow-up at 3 months revealed complete resolution of constipation and abdominal distension. The study highlights the efficacy of the Swenson technique in surgical management and underscores the potential for familial predisposition in Hirschsprung's disease.

Bu çalışmada, Hirschsprung hastalığı tanısı alan ve Swenson tekniği ile cerrahi tedavi uygulanan iki kız kardeşin vakası sunulmuştur. Hastalığın etiyopatogenezi, distal kolonun aganglionik segmentinin fonksiyon bozukluğuna bağlı olduğu ve bu durumun proximal kolonda dilatasyon ve hipertrofiye yol açtığı vurgulanmıştır. Swenson tekniği, aganglionik segmentin rezeksiyonu ve anal sfinkterlerin korunarak anastomoz yapılmasını içerir. Ameliyat sonrası 3 aylık takipte, hastaların konstipasyon ve karın distansiyon şikayetlerinin tamamen düzeldiği gözlemlenmiştir. Çalışma, Hirschsprung hastalığının cerrahi tedavisinde Swenson tekniğinin etkinliğini ve ailevi yatkınlık potansiyelini desteklemektedir.
