Understanding an Abandoned Child: A Case Study

Abstract

This article aims to address the psychotherapy process conducted by a novice therapist with a client who had intense problems in her daily life and interpersonal relationships. The topics and agenda of the client, the way she brought these topics to the sessions, her past experiences and the change that she achieved throughout the process were conveyed with some modifications that do not ruin the originality of the process. Moreover, the situations in which the therapist had difficulties, and the factors that enabled the progress in the process were mentioned in the article. The case and the therapy process were narrated from the therapist’s personal point of view rather than grounding them on the theoretical bases.

Terk Edilmiş Bir Çocuğu Anlamak:Bir Vaka Örneği

Abstract

Bu yazıda, psikoterapi uygulamalarına yeni başlamış bir terapistin, günlük yaşamında ve kişilerarası ilişkilerinde yoğun sorunlar yaşayan bir danışan ile yürüttüğü psikoterapi sürecinin aktarılması amaçlanmıştır. Sürecin açıkça anlaşılması için, danışanın süreç boyunca getirdiği gündem, bu gündemi getirme şekli, geçmiş yaşantısı ve sürecin ilerleyen döneminde gösterdiği değişim, sürecin orijinalliğini bozmayacak şekilde değiştirilerek verilmiştir. Yazıda ayrıca, terapistin bu süreçte zorlandığı durumlara ve sürecin ilerlemesini sağlayan faktörlere de değinilmiştir. Psikoterapi sürecine yeni başlamış bir terapistin süreçte edindiği kişisel deneyimleri konu alan bu yazıda, vaka ya da süreç teorik bir zemine oturtulmamış, terapistin deneyimlerinin olabildiğince kişisel bir bakış açısıyla verilmesi amaçlanmıştır.
