Ses sistemi, her dilin en önemli unsurudur. Dilin iyi araştırılmış ses özellikleri onun geçmişi ve diğer diller ile bağlantıları hakkında bilgi verebilir. Bu makalede Kazakça ve Türkçedeki /i/ sesleri karşılaştırılmaktadır. Karşılaştırmanın sonuçlarına dayanarak bu seslerin telâffuz etme sürecinde konuşma organlarının hareketleri incelenmektedir. Eski Türkçe döneminde /i/ sesinin telâffuzunun çağdaş Kazakçadaki telâfuzu ile aynı olduğu iddiası ortaya konmuştur.
The sound system is a very important component of any language. Well-researched sound peculiarities of a language can give detailed information about its past and its relations with other languages. Sound /i/ of the Kazakh language is compared with the Turkish sound /i/ in this study. According to the data of the comparison,conclusion has been made about the articulation of organs of speech during pronunciation of these sounds. Probably, the/i/sound articulation resembled the modern/i/sound articulation in the Kazakh.
