Bu çalışma, 2024-2025 eğitim-öğretim yılı 5. sınıf Türkçe ders kitabında yer alan Türkiye adlı şiiri eleştirel söylem analizi yöntemiyle incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında, ele alınan şiirin söylemsel yapıları üzerinden öğrencilere hangi değerlerin aktarıldığı ve nasıl bir kimlik inşasının desteklendiği çözümlenmiştir. Nitel araştırma bağlamında şekillenen ve Fairclough’un üç boyutlu eleştirel söylem analizine dayalı olarak gerçekleştirilen çözümlemede, şiirin güçlü bir ulusal aidiyet duygusu oluşturmayı hedeflediği ve dilsel ögeler aracılığıyla tarihsel, kültürel ve duygusal bağlar kurduğu belirlenmiştir. Vatan sevgisi, millî birlik, fedakârlık ve toplumsal dayanışma gibi temalar şiirde belirgin bir şekilde öne çıkmakta; bu da metnin değerler eğitimiyle olan ilişkisini ortaya koymaktadır. Elde edilen bulgular, edebi metinlerin öğrencilerde kimlik bilinci oluşturmada ve kültürel değerleri pekiştirmede etkili olduğunu göstermektedir. Bu bağlamda, ders kitaplarında yer alan şiirlerin pedagojik işlevselliği göz önünde bulundurularak seçilmesi gerektiği önerilmektedir. Ayrıca, metin seçiminde yaş düzeyine uygunluk, çok yönlü anlam katmanları ve değer aktarımına katkı sağlama gibi ölçütlerin dikkate alınması önem arz etmektedir.
This study aims to examine the poem titled "Türkiye", included in the 5th grade Turkish textbook of the 2024-2025 academic year, using the critical discourse analysis method. Within the scope of the study, it was analyzed which values were conveyed to students and what kind of identity construction was supported through the discursive structures of the poem. In the analysis, which was shaped in the context of qualitative research and based on Fairclough's three-dimensional critical discourse analysis, it was determined that the poem aimed to create a strong sense of national belonging and established historical, cultural and emotional ties through linguistic elements. Themes such as patriotism, national unity, sacrifice and social solidarity are prominent in the poem; this reveals the relationship of the text with values education. The findings obtained show that literary texts are effective in creating identity awareness in students and reinforcing cultural values. In this context, it is suggested that the poems in the textbooks should be selected by considering their pedagogical functionality. In addition, it is important to take into account criteria such as age-appropriateness, multi-faceted layers of meaning, and contribution to the transfer of values when selecting texts.
