<p>Abstract. This study examines the factors predicting self-esteem in visually impaired individuals by analyzing the role of self-efficacy, attachment styles, value-oriented living, and family role performance. The research aims to contribute to the development of effective interventions and policies that support the psychosocial well-being of visually impaired individuals while strengthening social support mechanisms. A quantitative research design was employed using a correlational survey model. The study sample consisted of 163 visually impaired individuals residing in Turkey, and data were collected through an online survey. Descriptive statistics, independent samples t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis were used to analyze the data. The findings indicate that employed individuals reported higher self-esteem than unemployed individuals, and those with higher education levels had significantly greater self-esteem than individuals with lower education levels. General self-efficacy, secure attachment style, and value-oriented living were found to positively predict self-esteem, whereas an anxious-ambivalent attachment style had a negative effect. Additionally, family role performance was identified as a significant factor enhancing self-esteem. However, self-esteem did not differ significantly based on gender. These results highlight the importance of interventions aimed at increasing self-efficacy to support the psychosocial well-being of visually impaired individuals. Furthermore, promoting secure attachment development, encouraging value-oriented living, and strengthening family role performance through social support programs may effectively contribute to improving self-esteem in this population.</p></trans-abstract>
