                                                                                                <abstract><p>Bu çalışma, Türkiye&#039;de ve dünyada yetiştiriciliği yapılan 7 yabancı kökenli zeytin çeşidinin (Arbequina, Ascolana, Gordales, Hojiblanca, Manzanilla de Carmona, Negral ve Verdial) 15 Eylül 2014 tarihinden 22 Aralık 2014 tarihine kadar 10 günlük periyotlar halinde 10 hasat dönemi boyunca bazı biyokimyasal ve pomolojik özelliklerindeki değişimleri incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu incelemelerde çeşitlerin olgunluk süresince meyve eni (mm), meyve boyu (mm), çekirdek eni (mm), çekirdek boyu (mm), 100 meyve ağırlığı (g), meyvede yüzde et oranı (%), meyvede nem oranı (%), olgunluk indeksi (O.İ.) ile meyvelerin toplam klorofil içeriği (klorofil-a+klorofil-b) ve toplam karotenoid içeriklerinde (µg/ml) meydana gelen değişimler saptanmıştır. Çalışma sonunda olgunluk ilerledikçe meyvelerin şekillerinin ve iriliklerinin arttığı saptanmıştır. Ayrıca özellikle meyvede renklenme yarıyı geçtiğinde (O.İ.&amp;gt;3) klorofil miktarlarında önemli bir azalma bununla birlikte meyvenin ekzokarp kısmının tamamı renklendiği (O.İ.&amp;gt;4) zaman ise karotenoid miktarında önemli bir artış gözlendiği saptanmıştır.</p></abstract>

                            <p>This study was carried out to compare some biochemical and pomological characteristics of seven foreign olive cultivars including ‘Arbequina’, ‘Ascolana’, ‘Gordales, ‘Hojiblanca’, ‘Manzanilla de Carmona’, ‘Negral’ and ‘Verdial’, which widely grown in Turkey. Cultivars were collected in periods of 10 days from the date of 15th September to 22th December in 2014. In this research fruit width (mm), fruit length (mm), fruit weight (g/100 fruits), percentage of moisture in fruit (%), flesh ratios of fruits (%), maturity index, total chlorophyll contents (µg ml⁻¹) and total carotenoid contents (µg ml⁻¹) were determined during maturity. As a result of study, concentrations of total chlorophyll contents (µg ml⁻¹) decreased although concentration of carotenoids increased when skin color of fruit is turning red, purple or black more than half of the surface (M.I.&amp;gt;3 and M.I.=4).</p></trans-abstract>
