Abstract

Today, a large part of the world population of 7.83 billion benefits from telecommunication services. Telenutrition is the use of electronic information and telecommunication technologies in the medical nutrition therapy process by licensed dietitians. During these processes, elements such as live video conference, mobile phone, social media, mobile applications, training videos, SMS, e-mail or fax are used. Telenutrition supports the treatment and follow-up process by bringing together healthcare professionals and patients in places where transportation or interaction opportunities are limited. In addition, it provides cost reduction in many economic issues such as transportation, accommodation, vehicle use, hospital expenses. The barriers to the telenutrition approach are the inability to perform physical examinations, the presence of distractions in the patient or specialist home environment, increased care coordination among the professional team, technical problems and limited telecommunication skills. Today, telenutrition applications are used in the follow-up of many diseases and many of them have positive effects. In addition, there is no clear information about its effectiveness and content. The aim of this study is to evaluate the content, effectiveness and standards of the services to be provided with telenutrition in the medical nutrition treatment of diseases with the current literature.

Tıbbi Beslenme Tedavisinde Güncel Bir Yaklaşım: Telenütrisyon
