Abstract
Within the European Union (EU), the importance devoted to the environmental policies has increased along with the establishment of the single market and thus the liberalization of trade. The EU’s common environmental policies’ legislative framework urges the EU to take an effective position in the international level from the perspective of the way the problems are taking into consideration and its solution methods. Trade and environmental interaction mainly originates from the issues such as environmental protection, sustainable development and environmental regulations that cause hidden protectionism in international trade. This paper discusses the environment and trade interaction and the impacts of interest groups on political decision making process.
Abstract
Avrupa Birliği (AB) tek pazarın oluşturulması ve buna bağlı olarak ticaretin serbestleştirilmesiyle birlikte çevre politikalarına verilen önem de artmıştır. AB’nin ortak çevre politikası sahip olduğu yasal çerçeve, sorunların ele alınışı ve çözüm yöntemlerinin oluşturulması bakımından Birliğin uluslararası düzeyde de etkili bir konuma sahip olmasına yol açmıştır. Ticaret ve çevre konularının temel hareket noktasını, bir yandan çevrenin korunması ve sürdürülebilir kalkınmanın sağlanması bir yandan da çevresel düzenlemelerin uluslararası ticarette gizli bir korumacılığa neden olacak şekilde kullanılmasının önlenmesi oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışmada AB’de çevre ve ticaret etkileşimi ve çıkar gruplarının bu politikalar üzerindeki etkileri tartışılmaktadır.
