                                                                                                <abstract><p>1970’lerden itibaren demokrasi, kriz tartışmalarıyla kamuoyugündemini meşgul etmiştir. Bu tartışmalarda demokrasininyaşamakta olduğu krizin sebepleri analiz edildiği gibi, bu kriziaşmak için bir takım önerilerde de bulunulmuştur. Bu çalışmada,demokrasi krizine yönelik olarak önerilen çözüm yollarından biriolan, doğrudan demokrasinin yerel düzeyde uygulanışı yani, yereldoğrudan demokrasi uygulamaları ele alınmıştır. Bu bağlamda yereldemokrasi ve doğrudan demokrasi kavramları ile yerel doğrudandemokrasi uygulamaları, yerel doğrudan demokrasi uygulamalarınıntürleri ve bu uygulamalarda oylama konusu edilen konular elealınmıştır. Daha sonra, yerel doğrudan demokrasinin fayda vesakıncalarına değinilmiştir. Sonuç bölümünde ise, demokrasinindemokratikleştirilmesine katkı sağlayacağı düşüncesiyle, Türkiye’dehenüz yeterince tartışıl(a)mayan yerel doğrudan demokrasinin tarihi,kültürel ve siyasal gerçeklikler de dikkate alınarak daha kapsamlı vederinlikli bir tartışmaya neden gerek olduğu belirtilmeye çalışılmıştır.</p></abstract>
