Root and crown rot and wilt of tomatoes caused by fungal diseases in Ankara province.

Abstract

This study was conducted in Ayaş, Beypazarı and Nallıhan districts of Ankara province during May-November 2003-2004 in order to detect fungal pathogens of tomato, and to find out the incidence, prevalence and occurrence times of these pathogens. It is detected that wilt and root rot pathogens causes important yield losses in tomato fields in Ankara. The incidences of the fungi isolated roots and crowns were 17.2 %, 0.96 %, 0.32 %, 0.91 %, 2.95 %,% 0.52 for Pyrenochaeta lycopersici, Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. radicis-lycopersici, Fusarium solani, Rhizoctonia solani, Alternaria alternata, Verticillium dahliae, Phytophthora nicotiana var. parasitica, respectively. In pathogenicity tests performed with Joker, Gökçe and Falcon tomato cultivars, Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. radicis-lycopersici, Fusarium solani, Rhizoctonia solani and Verticillium dahliae were found to be pathogenic on tomatoes.

Abstract

Bu çalışma Ankara ili Ayaş, Beypazarı ve Nallıhan ilçeleri domates ekiliş alanlarında solgunluk ve kök ve kökboğazı çürüklüğüne neden olan hastalık etmenlerini, bulunuş oranlarını, yaygınlıklarını ve çıkış zamanlarını tespit etmek amacıyla 2003-2004 yıllarında Mayıs-Ekim ayları arasında yapılmıştır. Ankara ilinde domates ekilen alanlarda solgunluk ve kök ve kökboğazı çürüklüğüne neden olan fungusların önemli verim kayıplarına sebep olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Hastalıklı bitkilerden elde edilen funguslar ve bulunuş oranları şöyledir: Pyrenochaeta lycopersici % 17.2, Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. radicis-lycopersici % 0.96, Fusarium solani % 0.32, Rhizoctonia solani % 0.91, Alternaria alternata % 2.95, Verticillium dahliae %0.52. Phytophthora nicotiana var. parasitica ise Nallıhan ilçesinde tek bir tarlada tespit edilmiştir. Joker, Gökçe ve Falcon domates çeşitlerinde yapılan patojenlik testlerinde, Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. radicis-lycopersici, Fusarium solani, Rhizoctonia solani ve Verticillium dahliae patojen bulunmuştur.
