                            <p>Nowadays, health care aims to enable patients to be independent and self-managed in care. At this point, the educator role of the nurse becomes important and the patient education process should be carried out in line with the needs and characteristics of the individual. Therefore, using nursing models and theories in planning and implementing patient education will increase the quality of education by providing systematic training. Hildegard E. Peplau&#039;s Interpersonal Relations Theory, one of the nursing theories, includes the individual in all stages of education and promotes the independence and healthy behavior structure of the individual by respecting the self. Therefore, the theory overlaps with the principles of adult education (androgogy) in many respects. This review article focuses on the education of an adult patient based on the Peplau theory and aims to guide the planning and implementation of future patient education.</p></trans-abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <abstract><p>Günümüzde sağlık bakımı, hastaların bakımda bağımsız olmalarını ve öz yönetimlerini sağlayabilmelerini amaçlamaktadır. Bu noktada hemşirenin eğitimci rolü önem kazanmakta ve hasta eğitim sürecinin bireyin ihtiyaçları ve özellikleri doğrultusunda yürütülmesi gerekmektedir. Bu nedenle hasta eğitiminin planlanması ve uygulanmasında hemşirelik model ve teorilerini kullanmak; sistematik şekilde eğitim verilmesini sağlayarak eğitimin kalitesini arttıracaktır. Hemşirelik kuramlarından Hildegard E. Peplau’nun Kişilerarası İlişkiler Kuramı, bireyi eğitimin tüm aşamalarına dahil etmekte, bireyin benliğine saygı duyarak bağımsızlığını ve sağlıklı davranış yapısını teşvik etmektedir. Bu nedenle kuram, yetişkin eğitimi (androgoji) ilkeleriyle birçok açıdan örtüşmektedir. Derleme türünde olan bu makale, Peplau kuramına dayalı yetişkin bir hastanın eğitimine odaklanmakta ve bundan sonra yapılacak olan hasta eğitimlerinin planlanması ve uygulanmasında yol gösterici olmayı amaçlamaktadır.</p></abstract>
