Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the findings of 132 fine-needle aspiration biopsy examinations performed in patients with a breast mass.Method: Our study icluded 132 patients who underwent a fine-needle aspiration biopsy examinations in the hospital between January 2012 and April 2012. Findings were retrospectively evaluated by the evaluation of the patient records according to their ages and gender. Student t, Mann Whitney and Spearman’s tests were used during data analysis.Results: The fine-needle aspiration cytologyc examination of the patients showed atyphic cell (inflamation) in28 patients (21%), failure materyal in 20 patients (15,5%), malign cell in 2 patients (1,5%), 82 patients (62%) had normal cytologyc findings. Malignancy rate did’nt correlate with the ages of the patients.Conclusion: Fine-needle aspiration is a very efficient and safe method for the evalution of the benign and malignant diseases of the breast.
Amaç: Bu çalışmada memede kitle nedeniyle ince iğne aspirasyon biyopsisi(İİAB) yapılan132 hastanın sitolojik bulgularının değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır.Materyal ve Metod: Çalışmamıza Ocak - Nisan 2012 tarihleri arasında meme hastalıkları polikliniğinde İİAB uygulanan 132 hasta alındı. Biyopsi sonuçları hasta dosyası taraması yöntemiyle yaş ve cinsiyete göre retrospektif olarak değerlendirildi. Verilerin değerlendi- rilmesinde Student t, Mann Whitney ve Spearman testleri kullanıldı.Bulgular: Sitolojik incelemesinde hastaların 28’inde (%21) atipik hücre (iltihabi hücre),20’sinde (%15,5) yetersiz materyal, 2’sinde (%1,5) malign hücre ve 82’sinde (%62) nor- mal meme duktal hücre gözlendi. Malignite oranı yaşla pozitif korelasyon göstermedi.Sonuç: İİAB incelemesi memenin benign veya malign hastalıkların araştırılmasında ol- dukça etkili ve güvenilir bir yöntemdir.
