Yeniden Düzenlenmiş Temel Afet Bilinci Eğitim Programının Okul Dışı Bilim Öğrenme Ortamında Etkililiğinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı Boğaziçi Üniversitesi Kandilli Rasathanesi ve Deprem Araştırma Enstitüsü Afete Hazırlık Eğitim Birimi tarafından verilen Temel Afet Bilinci Eğitim Programı’nı güncellemek ve güncel programın etkililiğini deneysel araştırma deseni kullanarak belirlemektir. Örneklem 70 sekizinci sınıf öğrencisinden oluşturulmuş; veriler Kavramsal Anlama Anketi-Deprem ve Program Değerlendirme Anketleri kullanılarak toplanmış, bağımsız örneklem t-test, ANOVA ve ANCOVA kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Programın orijinal ve güncellenmiş hallerine katılan öğrencilerin kavramsallaştırma düzeyleri arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark bulunmamış; ancak çalışmanın başında kontrol grubuna göre dezavantajlı durumda olan deney grubu öğrencilerinin kavramsal anlama düzeylerinde istatiksel olarak anlamlı bir gelişme saptanmıştır. Ayrıca öğrencilerin depremlerin oluşum sürecine, büyüklük, şiddet terimlerine ve depremlerin önceden tahmin edilebilirliğine ilişkin konularda kavram yanılgıları yaşadıkları belirlenmiştir.
